What are BabyBliss Nursing Pads made of?

The top layer is ultra-soft bamboo cotton. This soft side is worn against the skin. The middle layer is made of a microfiber. The back side with the colored fabric is a polyester with waterproofing to provide leak protection. This side lays inside the nursing bra away from the skin.

Is it okay to keep used pads in the dirty laundry until I'm ready to wash them?

You may keep your used pads in the dirty laundry if you are not yet ready to wash them. But please make sure that you at least wash away the milk absorbed in it to avoid spoiled milk staying in the pads for too long. We also strongly suggest to line dry your pads sometimes as the heat of the sun helps in sterilizing the fabric of your nursing pads.

Will BabyBliss Nursing Pads show through tight shirts?

BabyBliss Nursing Pads are designed to be extremely absorbent and as such they may be visible through tight shirts. If you require more discretion, then we recommend a thinner less absorbent nursing pad.

How do I know how many will I need?

Every breastfeeding journey is a new one, even for moms like me whose journey from one child to the next was unique. It’s important to ensure you have a good supply so that you are not ever caught short.


Begin by aiming to use 2 pairs during the day and 1 at night. You will soon figure out your routine and can adjust accordingly. Happy feeding.

USING YOUR NURSING PADS

How Do You Use Your BabyBliss Nursing Pads?

Step 1: Place the breast pads inside your bra so they are centered on your nipples. Please make sure that the seam on your pads is positioned upward to avoid milk running through it that may result to leakage. If you’re using a cream or ointment for sore nipples, apply it before putting the breast pad in place. 


Place the soft cotton side against the skin and the shinier colored side faces out. Every woman's breast is shaped differently, so position the pad in a way that works best for you.

Step 2: Change the pads as soon as they get wet and air your nipples for a short while. Not only does wearing a wet breast pad increase the chances of milk leaking through your clothes, it can lead to nipple irritation. Itchiness can be a sign of a looming infection, so we advise you to contact a healthcare professional for advice and guidance. 


Step 3: Moisten a breast pad that has dried to your skin with warm water before removing it. This will pull it away from the skin to avoid irritation.

How Do You Wash your BabyBliss Nursing Pads?

Machine wash: We recommend washing our BabyBliss nursing pads on a cool water setting helping to preserve their softness. Any staining can be dealt with by gently washing in a mild bleach soap solution.


Hand wash: Hand wash breast pads in a soapy solution, ensuring you rinse well and dry thoroughly.


Drying: place the breast pads in the dryer on the cool setting and ensure they are completely dried through before placing in the organza bag for storage or reusing.
